Instructions For Use
INSTRUCTION
The Dissolvable OPAQUE Herrick Lacrimal Plug provides temporary occlusion of the tear drainage system
Dissolvable Plugs:
Are effective in the horizontal canaliculi
Never touch the eye
Are comfortable after proper placement, and will not fall out of the punctum
Punctal dilation and topical anesthesia are not usually required for insertion.

INDICATIONS
Dissolvable OPAQUE Herrick Lacrimal Plugs may be used:
As a diagnostic aid to determine the potential effectiveness of Occlusion Therapy with no-dissolvable plugs
To temporarily enhance the efficacy of topical medications or ocular lubricants
After ocular surgery to prevent complications due to dry eyes
To evaluate treatment of ocular dryness secondary to contact lens use
In the treatment of Dry Eye Syndrome and the dry eye components of varying Occular Surface Diseases
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Chronic tearing (epiphora) secondary to canalicular obstruction, Dacryocystitis with or without mucopurulent discharge
BEFORE INSERTION
Patients should be given a complete eye examination with thorough history. Patients reporting one or more symptoms on a Symptoms Checklist (available from Lacrimedics) should be given the Lacrimal Efficiency Test™ with dissolvable test plugs.
Patients with pre-existing intermittent tearing should receive pressure irrigation (with the TruPro™ Cannula from Lacrimedics) to rule out canalicular obstruction.
PACKAGING
Dissolvable OPAQUE Herrick Lacrimal Plugs are made of polydioxanone and are provided sterile, two plugs per pouch, one pouch per box
Dissolvable OPAQUE Herrick Lacrimal Plugs are available in two sizes: 0.4mm & 0.5mm. The 0.4mm plugs are appropriate for use with most adult patiens; use 0.5mm when 0.4mm plugs will not stay in position.
Dissolvable OPAQUE Herrick Lacrimal Plugs have a medium term degradation rate of approximately 180 days
Store product at room temperature or between -10 and +25 degrees Centigrade.
Temperatures may move above and below these values temporarily (i.e. during transport) without harm.

自溶性栓塞可用于水平泪小管，不触及眼睛，安置妥当后感觉舒适，也不会由泪管口脱落
安置时通常不需泪管口扩张与局麻

帮助诊断使用非自溶性栓遮盖治疗的效能
临时性增强局部药物或眼润滑剂的效果
预防眼手术后干眼并发症
评估使用隐性眼镜引起的干眼症治疗
干眼综合症及各种眼表疾病干眼的治疗
禁忌症
脓性或非脓性分泌泪小管堵塞及泪囊炎引起的慢性泪眼(泪溢)
安置前
须参照完整病历对病人进行全面眼检，病人若有症状表(Lacrimedics提供)上的一个或数个症状时须使用自溶性试栓进行泪腺效率测试TM
曾患有间歇性泪眼的病人须用压力冲洗(Lacrimedics的TruPro TM Cannula) 排除泪小管堵塞
包装
自溶性欧佩克赫里克泪管栓用无菌的聚二氧六环酮制造，每盒一包，每包两个栓
自溶性欧佩克赫里克泪管栓有两种尺寸: 04毫米与0.5毫米，0.4毫米适合多数成人，若无法固定则使用0.5毫米
自溶性欧佩克赫里克泪管栓中期降解期约为180天
本产品貯藏温度为室温或摄氏 -10 至+25 度
温度临时性超过以上数值(运输时)对产品不会造成损坏
